Core Returns
What’s a Core?
Short answer: your old part still has some life left in it (in most cases).
Certain auto parts can be recycled and remanufactured, and that’s where a core comes in. The “core” is simply the used part you’re replacing. To make sure those parts come back for round two, manufacturers charge a core fee—basically a refundable deposit.
Return your good old part, get your money back. Easy win.
At Fr33 Lance Fab, core items include things like remanufactured steering racks and spindles/knuckles.
All cores must be OEM and same part you purchased.
Example:
2006 Spindle/Knuckle for 2006 Spindle/Knuckle
Core Charges (a.k.a. How the Deposit Works)
When you buy a remanufactured part, you’ll see two prices:
- The part itself
- A core charge (your refundable deposit)
If you don’t have your old part ready at checkout, no problem—you pay the core charge upfront. Once you send the old part back in acceptable condition, that charge gets refunded.
Cores are due to be returned within 60 days of ordering.
Our process:
- Submit core/ return request HERE (Clear Photos Of Complete Part) failure to provide clear photos will result in automatic rejection.
- If approved shipping label is emailed to you
- We inspect for final approval
- We refund you minus the shipping label
Real-World Example
Say you purchase a remanufactured steering rack with a $150 core charge, but the old one is still on the truck. You’ll pay the core charge at checkout.
After the install, simply return your old steering rack using the Fr33 Lance Fab Core Return Portal (you’ll need your email and order number). You’ve got up to 60 days from purchase date to send it back.
If the core checks out, we refund the $150 (minus the return shipping label). No tricks. No fine print gymnastics.
Bad Core Example (broken bolts, heavy rust, or damage are not approved for core return):

**No Canadian Core Return option at this time due to customs and boarder difficulties. We recommend you sell your cores locally and should not be a problem.**
If core is accepted and is in rebuildable condition please allow 5-10 business days for refund to post to your account. All status updates will be available on core return portal Here.
